I am a music producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist. Being a fan of both instrument-based music and club sounds, my music exists somewhere in between, drawing on a vast range of influences, from jazz to dubstep.
I’m particularly interested in the emotional potential of electronic music - how it can make us feel things that can’t be felt otherwise, or that we didn’t know were within us; how we can work with technology to express what is fundamentally human.
Lyrically, my songs are mostly autobiographical with hints of fantasy. Each song is a reflection of what is on my mind at a given time, whether that’s contemplating my relationships with others, or dreaming of more caring worlds.
Some sonic projects have involved creative coding, for example data sonification and creating tools for audio-visual performance using Max MSP.

The Seat of the Androgyne, March 2024
https://soundcloud.com/valeria-a/sets/the-seat-of-the-androgyne
An album of soundscapes created for Ezekiel Yurdanur's exhibition, 'The Seat of the Androgyne', featuring sculptures made from steel and rawhide.
Split into seven primitive archetypes each piece is a totem, representing parts of the totality of divine expression, in the form of a genderless, omnipresent, and loving entity. Yurdanur invites the audience on a journey of meeting each of these realms with deep presence as they explore the domestic landscape of Safehouse.
The soundscapes were created collaboratively through embodied movement and sound journeys into each archetype, using techniques such as vocal improvisation, digital sound synthesis and sampling.
